Oberon was founded in 1993 and is based in Amsterdam. The company operates as a digital development agency. Oberon’s professionals invent, design and build clear digital platforms for both web and mobile and tackle complex IT issues. In doing so, Oberon opts for technology that is future-proof and in line with its clients’ ambitions.

Atabix
Atabix, also based in Amsterdam, focuses on digitising critical processes at governments and large enterprises. Atabix’s team consists of some 30 smart and experienced techies who are eager to help with all their clients’ SaaS issues. In August 2022, DELTA Equity Partners acquired a majority stake in Atabix to accelerate growth with the founders through buy & build. In December 2022, Kodision joined Atabix and now so did Oberon.

Role of Match Plan
Match Plan guided and advised Oberon throughout the acquisition process. Among other things, Match Plan assessed Atabix’s bid, coordinated the due diligence process and negotiated the transaction documentation. The deal team included Yvo Bruin, Rens Knevels, Claire Kruger, Matthias Duijzer and Erik Smidt.

“The collaboration with Atabix Group opens up new opportunities and markets for Oberon. We are pleased to have found a partner with the same entrepreneurial culture that enables Oberon to grow further and offers new opportunities and challenges for our team. The Atabix Group has a great position in the public sector. With our knowledge, we can further increase the positive impact on society by developing user-friendly applications for the public sector.” – Gert Braun, managing director at Oberon.

“Atabix Group has the domain expertise to develop high-quality software solutions for government. Accessibility for citizens and civil servants is and will become increasingly important. With the addition of Oberon to the Atabix Group, our clout is even greater, and we are able to develop products that are also distinctive on user experience. The buy & build strategy we have deployed is really starting to bear fruit and is not finished yet.” – David Westerhof, CEO Atabix Group.
