New Partner joins ICFG Switzerland to head International Water Practice
ICFG member based in Switzerland, A. Vaccani &Partners, is delighted to announce that Dr Karl Michael Millauer has joined their team as Partner, heading up their international water practice and further strengthening their capability and expertise in this area.
Dr Karl Michael Millauer has a Post Graduate Degree from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna, a PhD in Business Administration, and a PhD in Law from the University of Vienna in Austria. He is a well experienced executive with a strong track record in the water technology industry.
Karl Michael Millauer started his career under the training program at Bank Girozentrale in Vienna, the parent company of all “Sparkassen” in Austria. During this time, Mr. Millauer joined Montana AG, a publicly traded industrial holding where he served as assistant to the CEO, Karl Kahane. In parallel, he had the role of Assistant to the Management Director of the pharma company, SERO AG (Vienna) which had been acquired by Montana AG as a turnaround.
Subsequently Karl Michael joined the Austrian RATH Group as CFO, a manufacturer of refractory materials as well as high temperature insulation materials. He was responsible for the successful IPO to the Vienna Stock Exchange, as well as expansion into Eastern Europe and the USA. He was also responsible for the establishment of a high-tech fiber plant with the Japanese DENKA Group based in Germany.
He then moved to WOLFORD, leading manufacturer of women’s hosiery and bodywear., where as CFO he was responsible for the successful IPO of the company on the Vienna and Paris Stock Exchanges. He was also responsible for the international expansion of the Wolford luxury brand.
In 2001 Karl Michael joined the BWT Group based in Mondsee, Austria as the COO, marking his entry into the water industry. He was responsible for the project engineering business of the BWT Group. He was also the CEO of the subsidiary, CHRIST Water Technology Group, which was later demerged from BWT. In 2008 he became Senior Vice President at Aquatech International in Pittsburgh, USA, responsible for global business development of the Aquatech Group.
In 2013 Karl Michael founded Aquarion AG, a Swiss Holding company, which he led as the CEO until 2020.
He has an excellent network of international contacts and relationships throughout the water industry. Karl Michael’s strengths are in M&A transactions, Business and Project Development, and BOO/BOT Financing as well as forming joint ventures for selected international water treatment projects.
Dr Millauer will build and expand AVP’s water practice as well as exploit synergies with AVP’s other practice areas and market contacts.
