Dietmar has more than 18 years of experience in advising medium-sized and group companies as well as financial investors with investment banking background at Deutsche Bank / Morgan Grenfell, Cazenove, Lincoln International and WestLB. He also was the CRO for the Corporate Finance / M&A department of WestLB. He is a Director in the Corporate Finance/M&A department at ICFG Germany / Wintergerst.
Experience
With more than 17 years of experience in renowned companies such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Arrow Electronics, LANXESS and Deutsche Post DHL Group, particularly in the areas of corporate development and corporate/M&A, he has built up extensive expertise. Dietmar spent 11 years as Senior Vice President and Global Head of M&A at Deutsch Post DHL Group (now: DHL Group).
Dr Dietmar Nienstedt has been with WINTERGERST since 2025 and is a Director in the Corporate Finance/M&A department. He specialises in advising companies and investors on company acquisitions and disposals as well as in the areas of financing, corporate and growth strategies and post-merger integration/carve-out projects.
Education
Dietmar graduated from the University of Cologne with a degree in economics and business administration as well as a doctorate rerum politicarum (summa cum laude) in Economics and Econometrics. He is also a lecturer for company valuation and M&A at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Frankfurt am Main.
Life drives and passions
Outside of work, Dietmar enjoys cycling, relaxing with family and friends and loves reading and travelling. He also plays the piano.
