ICFG Hong-Kong, China advises on a strategic transaction of Italian spirits
CIGP Partners has advised the shareholders of Mancino Vermouth, the fast emerging premium vermouth brand, in selling a majority stake to the group Lucano 1894, the renowned Italian amaro and spirits group.
The transaction aims at providing Mancino Vermouth with new support and expertise in further continuing its success story, while broadening the product line of Lucano 1894, especially in the on-trade channel.
Mancino Vermouth is the business idea of world-renowned barman and entrepreneur Giancarlo Mancino, who created a premium vermouth brand which rapidly became a must-have in the best bars, hotel and restaurants around the world.
The transaction sets an important achievement for Mancino Vermouth and its founder Giancarlo Mancino, as well as the beginning of an important partnership with the Vena Family, owners of Lucano 1894, based on common values, ambitions and Lucanian roots.
“We have been following Mancino Vermouth very closely and we are convinced that we can achieve new heights together. This transaction confirms that Lucano 1894 is always careful in seizing opportunities, even more so if these new businesses allow us to further widen our market presence while still preserving territorial values and origins, in this case “Lucanian”. Our ambition is to become a centre of excellence in the beverage sector by welcoming in our group entrepreneurial companies sharing our same values” explained Pasquale Vena – President of the Lucano 1894 Group.
“Amaro Lucano is to me, home: a family company that has deep roots in my homeland –Lucania – and that I have proudly seen becoming the international brand it is today. This transaction is the union of two Italian companies sharing the same traditions and objectives. An acquisition that is a source of great pride for me”, commented Giancarlo Mancino – Founder of Mancino Vermouth.
